2nd Shift Assembly Group Leader

JOB SUMMARY

Lead the team to achieve customer satisfaction and demonstrate Gestamp core values to achieve Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost & Employee Morale objectives of the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for Safety of the team members, Quality of the products manufactured, managing Productivity, Cost (SQDC) and Employee Morale in the area of assignment.
  2. Planning & adjusting labor and achieving production schedule to make shipments on time. 
  3. Coaching, mentoring, training and developing team leaders and team members. Understanding and resolving team member concerns.
  4. Responsible for coaching and counseling of associates when necessary.
  5. Work with support functions to effectively solve Safety, Quality & Production problems and make improvements to achieve the budgeted goals.
  6. Collecting, analyzing, reporting operational data. Understanding work flow, balancing, and efficiency and using data to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing associates.
  8. Continue to learn & grow and be willing take on additional responsibilities. Step up to lead the department in the absence of the Assembly manager. 
  9. Implementation of Lean manufacturing principles and methods.
  10. Supports and contributes to the Annual Operating Plan regarding performance and cost expectations
  11. Seek to reduce safety risks, with support from the safety team 
  12. Know the health, safety and environmental procedures in your area and make sure apply
  13. Report accidents and incidents in your area
  14. Other duties as assigned by Operations Management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor or Associate’s degree in Science or Engineering or Business.
3 to 5 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing organization. Automotive experience a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Good Leadership, Coaching, Managing Processes & Process Improvement skills.
  2. Ability to work in high-pressure situations, make sound decisions and tight timelines.
  3. Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
