Production Team Leader

JOB SUMMARY

Working Leader of a team in support of all manufacturing process.  Supports & Trains Team Members in all Essential Functions & Skill Sets required to Continually Improve the Process.  Responsible for the Value Stream of their area of operation.  Also responsible for all production processes and supportive lean systems of their area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Leader of Standardized Work Practices Documentation and Execution
2. Assists other Team Members in Continually improving the operation
3. Is Required to be able to Proficiently Perform all Job-Related Functions of the Operation
4. Trains team members in the application of Lean Tools & Systems
5. Responsible for Product and Process Quality
6. Initially Leads Problem Solving Efforts
7. Actively participate in and help to design TPM and preventive maintenance programs.
8. Assist operators in TPM implementation.
9. Responsible for Assessment & Development of Team Improvement Goals

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Visual Reporting of Operational Measures
2. Supports the Continual Pursuit of Waste Elimination
3. Responsible for Safety
4. Will Perform Production Work When Team Members are Absent
5. Check/clean-up captor during your shift, daily
6. Check lineside inventory during the shift

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Having been trained in Lean Manufacturing Principals is a plus
2. Must have the Ability to Work in a Team Based Environment
3. Any Technical Skills are a plus
4. High School diploma or GED. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Has experience with PC based systems Microsoft applications
2. Must have excellent people and communication Skills
3. Must Handle Physical Demands of Production Operations

1. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
3. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
4. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
6. The ability to listen to  and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
7. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
8. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
