- Perform maintenance duties, jobs, tasks, functions, and responsibilities as assigned by work orders or directed by supervisors to maintain Facilities & Maintenance Department vehicles.Â
- Follow work schedules as assigned by supervisors to maintain maintenance vehicles, including off-hour emergency maintenance situations.
- Complete all work orders as assigned in a timely, effective, and efficient manner. Â
- Maintain, care for, and keep up with all assigned equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to fulfill duties and responsibilities.Â
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations; follow all equipment, material, and product use directions. Â
- Adhere to all school system personnel rules and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, such as repair records and inspection reports. Â
- Participate in training and staff development activities as may be required by the school system or state and federal regulations. Â
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Â
Required Qualifications:Â Â
- High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE). Â
- Must have valid Class C driver’s license and be able to drive county vehicles.Â
- Must have a combination of experience and training in maintaining, repairing and rebuilding automotive engines, including diesels. ASE Certification preferred. Â
- Ability to pass annual physical.

- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work. Ability to be present at the physical worksite.Â
- Ability and willingness to be on call 24/7, 365 days a year to respond to emergencies and other events; working outside of normal business hours is required.
- Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting, stooping, reaching, crawling, kneeling, and climbing (stairs, lifts, and ladders).
- Ability to perform routine physical activities including, but not limited to, repetitive motion, bending, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds, and heavier weights with assistance.Â
- Noise level of work environment is moderate to loud, and requires exposure to inclement weather conditions, dust, dirt, and confined areas. May be exposed to asbestos containing materials.
- Repetitive motion is required.Â
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
