Essential Duties:  
  1. Perform maintenance duties, jobs, tasks, functions, and responsibilities as assigned by work orders or directed by supervisors to maintain Facilities & Maintenance Department vehicles. 
  2. Follow work schedules as assigned by supervisors to maintain maintenance vehicles, including off-hour emergency maintenance situations.
  3. Complete all work orders as assigned in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.  
  4. Maintain, care for, and keep up with all assigned equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to fulfill duties and responsibilities. 
  5. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations; follow all equipment, material, and product use directions.  
  6. Adhere to all school system personnel rules and regulations.
  7. Maintain accurate records and reports, such as repair records and inspection reports.  
  8. Participate in training and staff development activities as may be required by the school system or state and federal regulations.  
  9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 
Required Qualifications:  
  1. High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE).  
  2. Must have valid Class C driver’s license and be able to drive county vehicles. 
  3. Must have a combination of experience and training in maintaining, repairing and rebuilding automotive engines, including diesels.  ASE Certification preferred.  
  4. Ability to pass annual physical.
  5. Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.  
  6. Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.  
  7. Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.  Ability to be present at the physical worksite. 
  8. Ability and willingness to be on call 24/7, 365 days a year to respond to emergencies and other events; working outside of normal business hours is required.
  9. Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting, stooping, reaching, crawling, kneeling, and climbing (stairs, lifts, and ladders).
  10. Ability to perform routine physical activities including, but not limited to, repetitive motion, bending, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds, and heavier weights with assistance. 
  11. Noise level of work environment is moderate to loud, and requires exposure to inclement weather conditions, dust, dirt, and confined areas.  May be exposed to asbestos containing materials.
  12. Repetitive motion is required. 
  13. Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
