Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Multi-Craft Technician to join our team in McDonough, GA. The ideal candidate will have experience as an electrician, mechanic, fabricator, or other tradesman and possess the ability to perform mechanical work at a professional level. This role is integral to maintaining the function and reliability of our building systems, manufacturing equipment, and support equipment. Key Responsibilities: Serve as an asset to the business by promoting positive working relationships, providing helpful and courteous service, and valuing the contributions of co-workers. Lead preventive maintenance on building systems, manufacturing equipment, and support equipment by operating and testing systems and equipment, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty components. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electronic functions by following schematics, diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, internal procedures, and manufacturer's instructions. Examines jobs to be done and determines best way to accomplish the work, Consults with the requester, Maintenance manager or functional crews when necessary Provide skill-based training to craftsmen of specific equipment in the plant and general skill-based knowledge Inspecting jobs to verify the work is performed correctly, safely and in a timely fashion. Collaborate with outside technical support organizations to obtain necessary information and accelerate the resolution of problems. Improve the function and reliability of facility systems by studying performance results, identifying root causes of failures, and recommending and implementing changes to equipment and procedures. Lead and participate in formalized reliability improvement teams, taking ownership of reliability improvement goals and leading others to achieve successful team results. Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs both verbally and using the company’s computer information systems. Provide regular feedback to the maintenance manager on the progression of training, and performance of multi-craft technicians. Effectively use CMMS system to document root cause, corrective actions and detailed descriptions of work performed including time with the expectation of 100% documented time. Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal codes and regulations. Possess the ability to focus on multiple tasks while providing updates to maintenance manager on current work in process. QualificationsRequired Skills: Experience in Equipment and Facilities Maintenance with a strong understanding of Electrical/Electronic Troubleshooting, Mechanical repair, and Building repair. Knowledge in the following areas: PLC controls and troubleshooting; PLC Programming skills are a definite plus. Use of multi-meter, oscilloscope, amp probe, circuit tracers/toners, and various sensors (optical, proximity, ultrasonic). AC and DC motors; experience with servos, frequency drives, and stepping motors. Industrial Refrigeration systems, HVAC, and chillers. House vacuum and compressed air systems. Paper-waste recovery, baler, and cyclone systems. Installation and maintenance of AC power, including panel boards, transformers, and conduit installation. Use of machine tools such as lathe, mill, grinder, drill press, and welders (arc, gas, tig, and/or mig). Vibration analysis, oil analysis, and other Pdm methodologies. Ability to analyze schematics, drawings, and diagrams to understand functionality and repair or replace parts and assemblies as needed. Competence in the use of computers and various programs, including MS Word and Excel; proficiency with project management software is a plus. Proficiency with SAP Plant Maintenance is a significant plus. Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills. Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime. Adequate computer skills with proficiency in CMMS usage Required Experience: Previous experience in the consumer packaging and printing industry is a plus. Knowledge of equipment manufactured by Fosber, Apstar, S&S, BHS, Rotary Die Cutters, Unitizers and conveyor equipment is a plus.
