The Templator is responsible for creating accurate digital templates and field measurements for countertop installations using company-approved systems and processes. This role works closely with homeowners, builders, sales, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure countertop projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. The Templator serves as a key link between the customer site and the fabrication shop by ensuring all measurements, notes, and specifications are complete prior to production. Requirements
- Â Perform on-site digital templating and measurements for countertop installationsÂ
- Create and submit accurate countertop templates using company systems and equipmentÂ
- Verify cabinet layouts, dimensions, appliance specifications, sink information, and jobsite readiness prior to fabricationÂ
- Ensure all measurements, labels, cutouts, seams, edge details, and notes are complete and accurate before releasing jobs to productionÂ
- Communicate with homeowners, builders, sales teams, project managers, and fabrication teams regarding jobsite conditions or discrepanciesÂ
- Maintain templating schedules and provide customers with estimated arrival times and updates throughout the dayÂ
- Operate company vehicles safely and comply with all traffic laws and company safety requirementsÂ
- Maintain templating equipment, tools, and vehicles in clean and working conditionÂ
- Follow all company safety policies and jobsite requirements, including PPE requirements where applicableÂ
- Identify and escalate issues that may impact fabrication, installation, scheduling, or customer satisfactionÂ
- Maintain professional appearance and customer service standards while representing the company on jobsitesÂ
- Assist with collecting sinks, appliance information, and other required materials or specifications as neededÂ
- Work closely with fabrication and installation teams to support successful project completion.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED requiredÂ
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record requiredÂ
- Experience in countertop templating, cabinetry, carpentry, construction, millwork, or related field preferredÂ
- Experience using digital templating systems and measuring tools preferredÂ
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret measurements and layoutsÂ
- Ability to work independently and manage daily schedules efficientlyÂ
- Strong communication and customer service skillsÂ
- Ability to identify potential installation or fabrication concerns before productionÂ
- Basic computer and mobile technology skills requiredÂ
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workdayÂ
- Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment as neededÂ
- Ability to travel between jobsites dailyÂ
- Ability to work in residential construction and active jobsitesÂ
Work Environment:
- Frequent travel to residential and construction jobsitesÂ
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and construction environmentsÂ
- Fast-paced environment with scheduling deadlines and changing prioritiesÂ
Preferred Experience:
- Countertop industry experienceÂ
- Granite, quartz, or solid surface experienceÂ
- Construction or field measurement experienceÂ
- Experience working with builders and homeownersÂ
