Other specific job-related knowledge and skills may be required.  The PSR team lead may assist in a variety of administrative functions and patient care activities in support of the clinic. Assists clinical staff in providing support for the efficient delivery of patient care. Assists with check in/out, collecting co-pays, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments, and assisting staff to provide support for the delivery of care. Tasks are performed according to hospital/clinic policies and procedures as well as legal compliance policies and other regulatory requirements. Must have good communication skills and support team work in the delivery of care as well as demonstrates customer service relations with the hospitals mission, vision and values.  WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Usual working space is a well ventilated patient care and office area. Physical requirements of the job are detailed within this job description. Direct patient care requires both fine and gross motor skills. Also subject to exposure to blood borne pathogens at all times in patient care. May have occasional exposure to radiation during radiology procedures and to dangerous chemicals (cleaning and disinfecting agents). Environment may be stressful at times, therefore ability to work productively under stressful conditions is necessary.  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Communication Assist in management and control of budget. Gives input regarding staff members performance and counsels as appropriate. Maintains safe and therapeutic environment. Upholds standards of practice of all age groups and code of ethics. Exhibits positive human relations.  Communication Keeps supervisor and/or practice manager informed of matters which are of importance to the well-being of the clinic and staff. Attends necessary and required meetings. Good rapport with practitioners as well as other healthcare providers and works with team members. Gives clear directions both verbal and written. High availability and visibility. Listens attentively and requests clarification and/or feedback. Assist in management and control of budget. Make recommendations to clinical supervisor and/or practice manager for budget items. Maintains budget. Coordinates coverage for clinics, filling in as necessary. In absence of PSR team lead, schedules and completes payroll for staff and forwards to practice manager. Delegates responsibilities according to scope of practice and age-appropriate care. Maintains staffing levels consistent with patient flow. Reduces waste and rework. Assure staff members are productive. Assures the departments/clinics have necessary supplies. Evaluates staff members performance and counsels as appropriate. Provide input into performance appraisal process to supervisor or practice manager regarding performance of staff, can evaluate according to scope. Identifies learning needs of staff and assists in development and attendance to offering. Assists with orientation of new staff/students. Understands and utilizes electronic medical record including medication reconciliation. In absence of PSR supervisor, may be required to counsel and coach staff and report to practice manager. Maintains and continues professional self-development and exhibits positive human relations. Accepts supervision. Seeks guidance/assistance as needed and accepts supervisory feedback non-defensively. Demonstrates a cooperative attitude in interactions with others. Tactful – maintains composure and is diplomatic in all situations. Treats all hospital associates, patients, and visitors with courtesy and respect. Exhibits caring attitude towards co-workers. Charge capture methods utilized according to established process. Knows and responds appropriately to all emergency codes. Reports to assigned area during emergency event and carries out assigned functions in timely manner. Knows and utilizes proper body mechanics. Accountable for ensuring patient/staff safety during the course of performing duties. Makes appropriate request for supplies or equipment needed. Upholds standards of practice and code of ethics for all age groups. Adheres to code of ethics, standards of practice, legal compliance policies and other regulatory policies. Performs all assigned procedures according to established policies and procedures of OCH. Recognizes and supports patient rights. Maintains confidentiality in all hospital matters. Adheres to HIPAA policies. Adheres to bloodborne pathogens and infection control/prevention policies including the exposure control plan and employee health protocols. Follows and upholds hospital personnel policies. Committed to continuous performance improvement/quality improvement and actively participates and supports the organization’s improvement efforts. Actively participates in review and revision of policies and procedures as well as in development of new policies. Dress and grooming reflect pride in self and the hospital. Adheres to the departmental as well as hospital wide dress code. Courteous friendly and helpful to new employees, students and personnel from other areas. Explains work accurately, clearly and according to established policy and procedure. Maintains BLS, ACLS and PALS provider status as applicable to position. Maintains required hours for licensure. Attends staff meetings 80% per year. Attends mandatory education offerings including annual hospital education. Attends 50% of in-services per year. Dependable and reliable in attendance and punctuality. Perfect attendance – exceeds standard. Absent 1-5 occurrences – meets requirement. Absent 6 or more occurrences – needs improvement, does not meet standard. Qualifications EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent (May be allowed to sign a GED agreement to obtain within 6-months). Depending on location and services of clinic licensure may be required. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year leadership. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: BLS certification or obtained within six months of hire preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology. Computer skills.
