Job DetailsJob Location: McKinney, TX 75069Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year Degree•   Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements. •   Record Revenue and expense accruals, including payroll. •   Record and maintain Fixed Assets tracking. •   Responsible for the preparation of month-end journal entries (J/E’s). Ensure that debt payments are made on a timely basis. •   Ensure monthly entries and closing are accurately performed and maintained. •   Work with Compliance to ensure required audits of contractors and financial documents are completed and updated. •   Coordinate with division contract managers and communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and various levels of the LPS workforce. •   Prepare complex financial statements and provide financial analysis as needed. •   Serve as subject matter expert with accounting systems software and training to Fiscal and other LPS staff. •   Works with Accounting team to ensure that Accounts Payable are paid in a timely manner, Accounts Receivable are collected and properly applied, and payroll is processed in timely manner. •   Position serves as a backup for all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. •   Other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification) Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Accounting is required. Five+ years progressive accounting experience. Preferences: Experience with a community MHMR, non-profit, or governmental accounting environment. Also, fixed assets and strong cost accounting skills. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities •   Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial statements prepared according to GAAP, business journals, technical procedures, governmental and grant regulations. •   Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. •   Ability to write business correspondence and routine reports. •   Ability to speak effectively to groups of employees, contractors, or customers. •   Ability to apply mathematical operations to financial statement preparation, test reliability and validity of data from several data systems. •   Employee must have knowledge of general accounting, payroll, and computer skills including highly skilled working with MS Excel and Blackbaud. •   Employee must be well organized and detail oriented.
