MITRE’s Enterprise Business Systems and Operations Division (EBSOD) focuses on delivering and supporting business systems and processes to enable our leaders and employees to deliver impact, make data driven business decisions, and find opportunities.  The EBSOD Platforms team delivers and supports enterprise business applications, integrations, and APIs that enable mission-critical business operations. The team manages SaaS platforms, middleware, automation, and production support to provide reliable, secure, and scalable business capabilities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Lead Business Systems Engineer provides technical support for enterprise applications with an emphasis on integrations, APIs, middleware, automation, and production operations. This role partners with business analysts, software engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders to maintain and enhance business platforms. This role will support multiple financial and related systems using technologies native to those platforms, to query and analyze data using SQL and advanced Excel tools, and to manage workstreams and work within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). 

Areas of Responsibility: 

  • Provide technical support for enterprise business applications (e.g., Costpoint, Unison, Concur, Workday, Ivalua, Salesforce, etc), integrations, APIs, and middleware.
  • Troubleshoot application, interface, and integration issues using SQL, logs, monitoring tools, and vendor resources.
  • Support MuleSoft and/or other enterprise integration platforms.
  • Configure and maintain application settings, interfaces, user access, and scheduled jobs.
  • Partner with development teams on enhancements, testing, deployments, and production support.
  • Develop SQL queries to validate data and investigate production issues.
  • Document technical solutions and operational procedures.
  • Actively participate in Agile/SAFe ceremonies.
  • Off-hours support of upgrades as needed.
  • Rotational on-call responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • 2+ years supporting enterprise business applications.
  • Experience supporting REST APIs, web services, and application integrations.
  • Experience with MuleSoft or comparable integration platforms (Boomi, Azure Integration Services, Informatica, Workato, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of REST, JSON, XML, OAuth, and Postman.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience supporting SaaS platforms in production.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to translate business requirements/business outcomes into successful system/platform changes.
  • Experience with Agile/SAFe and IT service management processes.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Experience supporting Costpoint, Ivalua, Unison CLM, Workday, Concur, Salesforce, or ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, or Azure Monitor.
  • Experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash automation.
  • Understanding of Azure or AWS.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps.
  • Experience evaluating, configuring, or supporting AI-enabled capabilities within enterprise business applications and SaaS platforms to improve operational efficiency and user productivity.
  • Familiarity working in government or government contracting industry.
  • At least 3 years of related experience including user support or customer services experience.
  • Experience with data integrations (e.g., Denodo, ETL tools), data engineering, and data warehousing.

$156,800 - $196,000 - $235,200 Annual
