The Operations Advisor provides high-level operational advisory support to the Customer in support of overseas (OCONUS) missions. This role delivers subject matter expertise in operational planning, coordination, and execution while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership in complex and dynamic environments. The position requires significant deployment to OCONUS locations (up to 80% of the time) and supports mission activities through operational insight, liaison coordination, and clear written and verbal communication. The advisor leverages Mandarin language capabilities, operational experience, and strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective coordination with stakeholders, provide operational recommendations, and support mission success.
What will you do?
- Provide senior-level advisory support on operational planning, coordination, and execution in support of government mission requirements.
- Analyze operational challenges and provide recommendations to leadership on strategies, risk mitigation, and mission execution.
- Support planning and implementation of mission activities in complex and dynamic operational environments.
- Deploy to OCONUS locations up to 80% of the time to provide on-site operational expertise and support.
- Monitor operational activities and provide real-time insights and recommendations to government leadership.
- Support mission coordination, operational assessments, and reporting from deployed locations.
- Serve as a liaison between Customer personnel, partner organizations, and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between operational teams and leadership.
- Support relationship-building and engagement with stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and mission alignment.
- Utilize Mandarin language skills to assist with communication, interpretation, and engagement with Mandarin-speaking partners or stakeholders.
- Provide cultural awareness and communication support to facilitate effective interactions and understanding.
- Produce high-quality written reports, briefings, and operational updates for Customer leadership.
- Clearly communicate operational developments, risks, and recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver briefings, assessments, and documentation supporting mission planning and decision-making.
Do you have what it takes?
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- Demonstrated operational experience supporting government, military, or national security missions.
- Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, including speaking and comprehension.
- Experience serving in liaison or coordination roles with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and briefings.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced operational environments.
- Willingness and ability to deploy OCONUS up to 80% of the time.
- Must have a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $230,000-$240,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
