About the Opportunity

SRM Concrete is seeking a skilled Fleet Body Repair & Paint Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. In this hands-on role, you'll perform high-quality collision repair, bodywork, welding, fiberglass repair, and paint refinishing on our fleet of ready-mix trucks and heavy equipment. If you have experience in automotive body repair, commercial truck repair, painting, fiberglass repair, welding, and metal fabrication, we want to hear from you.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

As a Fleet Body Repair & Paint Technician, you will help keep SRM's fleet operating safely and looking its best by:

  • Perform light to heavy-duty automotive and commercial truck body repairs.
  • Repair damaged fiberglass components, including fenders and hoods, using two-part epoxy systems.
  • Disassemble and reassemble mixer truck body components.
  • Straighten, repair, and replace damaged sheet metal and body panels.
  • Prepare surfaces by sanding, grinding, filling, masking, and taping prior to primer and paint application.
  • Prime, paint, and refinish vehicles to meet or exceed OEM and factory-quality standards.
  • Sand vehicle surfaces between coats to ensure proper adhesion and flawless finishes.
  • Perform welding and frame repairs as needed.
  • Work with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and fiberglass.
  • Operate portable equipment such as ventilators, exhaust systems, ladders, and scaffolding safely.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Dispose of hazardous materials and waste according to environmental and company regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What Sets You Apart

We're looking for someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and has experience working in an automotive, heavy equipment, fleet, or collision repair environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in automotive body repair, fleet repair, collision repair, or commercial truck body repair.
  • Experience painting and refinishing vehicles to OEM or better-than-factory standards.
  • Fiberglass repair experience using two-part epoxy systems.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Frame machine operation experience.
  • Ability to straighten and repair sheet metal.
  • Experience working with aluminum, steel, and other metals.
  • Familiarity with proper paint preparation techniques, masking, sanding, priming, and finishing.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations, PPE requirements, and hazardous waste disposal procedures.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding, and shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
