They park vehicles in the new-vehicle lot in an orderly manner and maintain the quality and attractive appearance of vehicles on the lot.   At Lum's Chevrolet GMC we strive to make every customer a customer for life. Lot Porter/Attendant Responsibilities Compares serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice. Inspects vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice. Records the description of damages and lists missing items on the delivery receipt. Parks new vehicles in assigned areas. Catalogs and stores keys. Assigns stock control numbers to cars. Moves sold vehicles to maximize use of space and keep the lot in order. Delivers sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department. Services vehicles in storage to protect tires, battery and finish against deterioration. Maintains new- and used-vehicle inventory appearance and performance by cleaning interior and exterior of vehicles, replenishing all vehicle fluids as needed, Places buyer guides and stock tags in vehicles. Keeps new- and used-vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by the general manager and in accordance with dealership display standards. Sweeps, shovels or vacuums loose debris or salvageable scrap into containers and removes containers from work areas. Inspects parts, equipment, or vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations. Drives vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed. Makes key tags for vehicles. Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows and wipes down doorjambs. Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surface. Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris. Cleans upholstery, rugs and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators and cleaning devices. Uses proper eye, hand and body protection when using products that require protection. Applies dressing on tires and tire wells. Replaces missing or defective small parts. Perform inventory for detail supplies and request form when needed. Ensures proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle's window. Removes all window stickers on sold vehicles. Other tasks as assigned. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
