What You'll Have
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of direct care experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
- Medication Administration certification (if designated for the role).
- Required clearances, including Acts 33 & 34 and FBI clearance when applicable.
- Physical examination and tuberculosis screening maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- For Community Participation Support Enhanced Services, applicable certifications or degrees as required by service definitions.
A Typical Day May Include
- Supporting individuals in achieving goals outlined in their Individual Support Plans (ISP).
- Assisting with community integration, volunteer opportunities, recreational activities, and social engagement.
- Promoting independence in daily living skills, personal care, and decision-making.
- Supporting individuals with vocational exploration and employment-focused activities.
- Providing transportation and accompanying individuals to appointments, activities, and community events.
- Monitoring health, safety, and well-being in all environments.
- Implementing behavior support plans and communication strategies.
- Administering medications in accordance with certification and agency policies.
- Completing documentation, service notes, health records, and other required reports.
- Collaborating with team members, families, and community partners to provide high-quality support.
- Participating in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
