Construction Inspector

Location: Pittsburg and McPherson KS

Earles Engineering & Inspection (EEI)—a Pittsburg, KS–based firm delivering civil, structural, environmental, inspection, and surveying services across Kansas, Texas, and the Oklahoma Panhandle—has a 30-year record of partnering with municipalities, state agencies, and private developers on water, wastewater, and land-development projects.

We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring construction projects meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You will be responsible for monitoring field activities, documenting progress, and supporting project teams in delivering successful infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect construction activities to verify compliance with project specifications, standards, and codes; monitor safety practices on job sites and report concerns as needed.

  • Document daily project progress, including materials, equipment, and work performed, and prepare clear and accurate inspection reports.

  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve field issues.

  • Perform measurements, testing, and other field tasks to support project quality control.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Must be a Certified Construction Inspector (e.g., NICET certification in Construction Materials Testing/Inspection, or equivalent recognized inspector credential) required.

  • KDOT and/or ODOT certification desirable but not required (training provided for the right candidate).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel out of town as project needs arise
