Machinist

Work You’ll Do:

· Set-up and operate a variety of machinery (Lathe, Mill, Saw, Core Drill, Hob) to blueprint specifications.

· Responsible for the set-up and operation on a variety of machinery to produce a large assortment of parts or finishes often of a complex nature. Must apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics and machining procedures.

· Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production.

· Must use job specific hand tools.

· Read part drawing with sectional views.

· Lift, position and transport work piece with a hoist.

· Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress or emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.

· Recommend improvements for area product and processes.

Team:

A team of approximately 20 Machinists working during all 3 shifts.

Basic Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED is required.

· 1 to 3 years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Basic math skills required, advanced preferred; general computer skills; knowledge and understanding of various measuring devices.
