Position Summary:
As a Convenience Store Assistant Manager at Agfinity, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our convenience store. You will be responsible for overseeing daily store activities, managing staff, and providing exceptional customer service. Your leadership and organizational skills will be essential in maintaining store standards and achieving business goals. Pay and title commiserate with experience and fit.
Essential Functions:
- Staff Supervision: Lead, train, and motivate store employees to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
- Sales and Profitability: Implement sales strategies, monitor sales performance, and work towards achieving sales targets and profitability goals.
- Store Operations: Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and maintaining store cleanliness and safety.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on sales, inventory, and staff performance to upper management.
Other Duties:
- Occasionally cover shifts for call outs and vacation coverage at other Agfinity CStore locations within a 25-mile radius.
- Assisting store management in evaluating and developing store displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise. Completing resets and revisions.
- Completion of daily books, troubleshooting discrepancies as they arise.
- Utilize handheld devices to order products when needed.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in retail management is a plus.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail or convenience store environment, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Knowledge:
- Retail Customer service.
- Basic accounting.
- Maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Skills:
- Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written.
- Excellent math skills.
- Computer skills are a plus.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to follow and enforce standard operating procedures and company policy.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning ability, combined with a positive leadership style and keen attention to detail.
