Your Impact As an Industrial Battery Service Technician, you are essential to keeping our customers' operations running safely and efficiently. Your technical expertise helps maximize equipment uptime, extend battery life, and ensure the reliable performance of industrial power systems. By providing high-quality service, responding quickly to customer needs, and maintaining the highest safety standards, you directly contribute to operational productivity, customer satisfaction, and the long-term success of both our customers and our organization. What You’ll Do Perform preventive maintenance inspections on industrial batteries, chargers, watering systems, and battery handling equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and battery-related issues involving lead-acid and lithium-ion battery systems. Install, replace, and commission industrial batteries, chargers, and related power equipment. Conduct battery testing, load testing, capacity evaluations, and performance assessments. Inspect battery rooms, charging stations, and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Maintain battery watering systems, monitor electrolyte levels, and perform routine battery maintenance. Complete battery cleaning, washing, neutralization, corrosion prevention, and safety procedures. Troubleshoot charger failures, electrical issues, and system malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical documentation. Accurately complete service reports, work orders, inspection records, and customer documentation. Educate customers on proper battery operation, maintenance practices, and workplace safety requirements. Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely field service support. Operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at customer sites and company facilities. Collaborate with customers, management, and internal teams to resolve service challenges and support operational goals. Follow all OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety policies and procedures. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. QualificationsWhat You Bring High School Diploma or GED required. Technical, vocational, military, electrical, or mechanical training preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience servicing industrial equipment, batteries, electrical systems, or mechanical equipment preferred. Experience servicing forklift batteries and charging equipment preferred. Knowledge of lead-acid and lithium-ion battery technologies preferred. OSHA safety certifications are a plus. Forklift certification is a plus. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and battery-related issues. Working knowledge of DC electrical systems, industrial battery technologies, and charging equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and service documentation. Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage service assignments effectively. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when documenting inspections, repairs, and service activities. Experience using diagnostic equipment, testing instruments, and computerized work order systems preferred.
