JOB SUMMARY: 

Under the direction of the Director of Provider Relations, Manager Assistant Operations will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Pricing Specialist Staff, overseeing the Pricing Specialist staff’s daily and weekly workloads and ensuring that tasks are completed timely and accurately. The Manager Assistant Operations will also need to have a working knowledge of all Pricing Specialist processes to be able to assist in task completion as listed but not limited to, daily review of MAC drug pricing performance, Pharmacy Contract performance and Client Contract performance as it relates to our client’s pricing performance goals. The Assistant Operations Manager will maintain MAC drug pricing in the PBF system for pharmacy pricing appeals and routine MAC pricing updates. The individual will also be accountable for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations related to drugs that have a MAC price in the PBF system, as well as adhering to state-mandated regulated pricing. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for maintaining and updating the policies and procedures for Pricing Specialist within Provider Relations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate, supervise and is accountable for the daily/weekly/monthly activities of team members
  • Meet day-to-day performance objectives
  • Development of training and support documentation to ensure that all Pricing Specialist Staff are properly trained and prepared to fulfil the needs of Provider Relation’s tasks.
  • Create procedural desktops to outline steps to complete tasks and assist with process training. 
  • Monitoring of project completion dates, job tracking, and providing status updates as needed. 
  • Periodic retraining of staff on at least an annual basis
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new clients. 
  • Provide support for escalated issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Pharmacy requests
  • Maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and managers in support of a cohesive team atmosphere
  • Be proactive by reporting any repeat complications that may be occurring because of systems, policies, or technological deficiencies
  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion and performance goals are met. 
  • Coordinate work activities with other supervisors, managers, departments, etc.
  • Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise, and judgment
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members, including formal corrective action
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for team members
  • Provide expertise and customer service support to members, customers, and/or providers
  • Obey all State and Federal HIPAA guidelines
  • Perform customer service duties
  • Perform quality assurance duties
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • One plus years of Provider Relations experience is preferred
  • Three years of leadership experience in an operations environment preferred
  • Ability to multitask on several high-priority tasks at once.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible work schedule as needed to support night or weekend work
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) experience and skills
  • Proficiency with database management tools and presentation of data analysis
  • COGNOS Business Software knowledge is preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of drug pricing review experience 
  • 2 to 3 years of pharmacy contract experience
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must be detail oriented, dependable and motivated
  • Possess acute attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills. 
  • The ability to work in a team environment
