Industrial Maintenance Mechanic II (Food Production) 2nd shift

The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment. This position works closely with production and other maintenance team members to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys troubleshooting equipment, and is willing to learn new skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment to minimize production downtime.
• Replace and adjust bearings, motors, pumps, belts, chains, gearboxes, valves, and other mechanical    components.
• Assist with equipment changeovers and production startups.
• Perform basic fabrication, welding, and equipment modifications as needed.
• Read and follow work orders, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before failures occur.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Work safely while following OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company food safety policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, automotive, agricultural, military mechanical  experience, or completion of a technical/trade school program preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using common hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to safely operate basic shop equipment.
• Willingness to learn welding, fabrication, machining, and other maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred but not required:

• Experience in food manufacturing or industrial maintenance.
• Basic welding experience (MIG or TIG).
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Physical Demand& Work Effort 

• Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
• Work around moving machinery and varying temperatures.
• Ability to safely perform physical maintenance activities.
• Must be able to pass a Background Check.
• This is a safety sensitive position, subject to initial follow-up drug testing.
• Must submit a driver record review.

Swing Shift

Mon-Sat**

3:00 PM to 1:30 AM. At present, the role is structured as a weekday position; however, it may shift to a Wednesday–Saturday**, depending on production needs.
