Position Available: Career Preparation Specialist 

We are seeking a full-time Career Preparation Specialist who is reliable, compassionate, has a great work ethic, and also loves to work with youth! This position is Monday through Friday 7:45AM-4:30PM The individual in this position develops, prepares, and delivers lessons using a variety of teaching strategies to meet individual student learning needs. 

 This person will be responsible to assist students in developing short-term and long-term goals in a classroom setting and making adequate preparation for classroom activities and maintaining appropriate classroom management in order to ensure maximum engagement and learning of all students. The Career Preparation Specialist participates in the student performance evaluations and prepares reports and documents the student’s progress toward achieving goals. 

We are looking for an individual who is a team player and well organized with great attention to detail and possesses strong oral and written communication skills. The ability to work as a team member and the ability to be self-motivated is essential for success. The position requires proficiency in the use of computers and common computer software (Microsoft Office and other career options and job search applications). Must be okay with weekly attendance to the DOL in Orleans County for resume building.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social or Human Services, Education, Counseling, or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education, vocational training, and/or experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-to-year basis. Must possess a New York State Valid Driving License with an acceptable driving record. Compensation is based on experience.
