Position Summary:
We are seeking a Product Manager to lead product planning and execution throughout the entire lifecycle—from ideation to commercialization. This role involves gathering and prioritizing customer and product requirements, defining product vision, and collaborating with design, sales, marketing, and support teams to achieve revenue and customer satisfaction goals. You will play a critical role in ensuring our products align with company strategy and deliver exceptional value to first responders.
This position can be remote (home office) or based at our Medina, OH headquarters. Onboarding at HQ is required, along with monthly visits and occasional travel (approximately 25%).
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and execute new product development initiatives across multiple product lines.
- Oversee stage-gate processes and coordinate design, development, and engineering resources.
- Identify and implement process improvements for product development.
- Define and manage product roadmaps and lifecycle strategies.
- Conduct market research and analysis (market size, trends, competitive landscape, pricing, voice of customer).
- Support product line maintenance (pricing, SKU rationalization, inventory management, cost reductions).
- Collaborate on strategic marketing plans and assist in developing collateral (packaging, training materials, sales tools).
- Monitor and participate in NFPA standards processes; ensure compliance and anticipate changes.
- Partner with Sales and Operations to optimize quality, cost, and customer satisfaction.
- Travel to manufacturing sites, dealers, and end users for product development, market research, and customer feedback.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in:
- New product design, development, and commercialization
- Project management and process improvement
- Market research
- Familiarity with NFPA firefighting PPE requirements is a plus.
- Proven success in defining and launching products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Strong technical aptitude for materials science and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, electronic).
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sense of urgency.
