Description
• Design and maintain standards expertise, policies, procedures, and manuals for Supplier QualityÂ
on the determination of new supply sources, supplier quality relations, standardization ofÂ
measurements, and acceptable criteria of materials. Compile supplier performance KPI metricsÂ
and participate in supplier scorecard development.Â
• Ensures suppliers meet requirements. Develop supplier to meet these requirements as needed.Â
• Supports the Sourcing team in the selection and quality of potential suppliers and Support NPDÂ
(New Product Development) projects.Â
• Interfaces with personnel from multiple plants to resolve chronic or major supplier issues andÂ
verify that suppliers understand process/product requirements.Â
• Implements and maintains quality improvement and auditing systems with suppliers focusing onÂ
process controls, quality control, quality management and quality systems.Â
• Review engineering specifications and drawings to determine suppliers’ abilities to meetÂ
parameters and reviews new and modified product designs from a material standpoint advisingÂ
modifications when necessary.Â
• Reviews and approves Suppliers PPAP’s; review and audit the deliverables including: ControlÂ
Plans, Capability Studies, Part layouts, Gage R&R, PFEMA, and support or lead projectÂ
management efforts regarding supplier changes.Â
• Involve suppliers, internal resources, plant personnel to drive containment and closed-loopÂ
closure to significant quality issue. Ensure that Supplier quality issues are resolved using anÂ
appropriate problem-solving methodology like; Root Cause, 8D and decision matrices.Â
• Assists multiple plants on third party audit regarding supplier qualifications and performance.Â
• Assist Purchasing and Customer Service to expedite product from suppliers in urgent situationsÂ
• Performs other duties as assigned.Â
Requirements
• BS degree in Engineering related field.Â
• Have 5+ years demonstrated quality systems knowledge and experience.Â
• Ability to travel expectation 50% up to 75%.Â
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing.Â
• Capable to summarize test data and report for external customers.Â
• Problem solving tools (KT, 8D, etc.).Â
• Familiarity in Advanced Quality Planning including AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and ControlÂ
Plan, FMEAs, PPAPs, MSA and Statistical Process Control (SPC) standards.Â
• Experience using Minitab or other statistical tools.Â
• Strong self-motivation and communication skills.Â
• Strong commitment to customer satisfaction.Â
• Ability to think outside the box and suggest/implement continuous improvement ideas.Â
• Strong analytical thinking.Â
• Good level of inter-personal relationships, interface with foreign personal.Â
• Being able to perform successfully in a matrix organization; Capable to lead complex efforts onÂ
behalf of the Quality leadership across functions.Â
Licenses/Certificates:
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt or Certified Quality Engineer preferred.Â
Technology/Equipment:
• Previous experience as an auditor for ISO 9001/TS 16949 or VDA Quality Systems, required.Â
