Job Overview  

The Mechanic/Fleet Technicianperforms skilled repairs on light and heavy-duty gasoline and diesel-powered autos, trucks, and off-road equipment   

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Perform highest quality repairs and maintenance procedures on all autos, trucks, and off-road vehicles

  • Coordinate repairs that will accommodate the needs of the maintenance and construction departments. 

  • Adhere to instructions given by the VP or lead Mechanic. 

  • Keep records of time and materials used in each job. 

  • Supply needed information to document all routine and major repairs. 

  • Provide and maintain information needed to maintain a substantial parts inventory under the guidance of the VP. 

  • Inspect and test all shop equipment. 

  • Maintain high standard of quality of all work performed. 

  • Follow proper safety procedures and standards on a regular basis. 

Job Requirements 

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • At least 1year as a mechanic at the journeyman level in the power equipment industry.

  • Knowledge of light and heavy-duty gasoline and diesel-powered autos, trucks, and off-road equipment. 

  • Demonstrate basic technical knowledge of diagnostics, drivability, and electrical. 

  • Ability to trouble shoot technical repair problems and ability to use computerized or mechanical test and repair equipment. 

  • Possession of a valid class A, or C.D.L. license.
