Activities Assistant

We are seeking a dynamic, personable, and dependable Activities Assistant to join our Assisted Living community.  This is a highly interactive,   hands-on role where your personality, creativity, and ability to connect with residents truly make a difference every day.

What a Day Might Look Like

In this role, you may:

  • Lead trivia, games, music session, or group discussion.
  • Spend time engaging with residents in conversation and activities
  • Help coordinate social events, themed programs, and community gatherings
  • Encourage participation and create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere
  • Capture photos and videos of activities and meaningful moments throughout the day

 This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being active, social, and engaged throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Activities Director in planning and leading social, recreational, and educational programs
  • Independently lead group activities such as trivia, games, discussion, music, and crafts
  • Create a welcoming and engaging environment that encourages participation
  • Adapt activities and communication styles based on resident needs and abilities
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up, including arranging rooms and preparing materials
  • Take photos and short videos of activities and events
  • Edit and upload videos to internal apps or platforms.
  • Create flyers, calendars, and activity announcements using simple digital design tools (training provided)
  • Update digital signage and TV displays with community programming content
  • Maintain organization of activity supplies and storage areas
  • Support and accompany residents on outings
  • Step-in and lead independently when needed
  • Participate in ongoing training and education

 

Experience & Skills (Preferred or Will Train)

  • Experience in hospitality, customer service, recreation, education, or working with seniors is a plus
  • Comfortable leading groups and speaking in front of others
  • Basic comfort with digital tools for creating flyers and visual content (training provided)
  • Interest in photography, video, or storytelling is highly valued
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creativity, flexibility, and reliability are essential

 

Availability & Logistics

  • Full-Time / Tuesday through Saturday (daytime schedule to start)
  • Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to pass Level II background screening: https://info.flclearinghouse.com
  • Basic computer literacy required
  • Prior experience preferred but not required. We will train the right person

 

Physical  Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs (50 lbs with assistance)
  • Work indoors and outdoors as needed
