About the Role:
HornerXpress seeks an energetic, reliable, and experienced Delivery Driver to join our branch in Melbourne, FL. The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate transportation of goods within their assigned route. The driver will be responsible for loading, transporting, and unloading products, often handling heavy items. The ideal candidate must have a valid CDL (Class B or C), be willing to go the extra mile for the team and have a strong work ethic.Â
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pull and load orders onto truck based on delivery schedule.
- Properly mark outside of trucks with DOT signage and load truck securely in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Follow efficient delivery routes using maps and GPS technology to ensure timely deliveries.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspection of trucks
- Load and unload merchandise safely, handling heavy weights and securing cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Operate delivery truck in compliance with all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Maintain truck with proper fuel level, keep interior clean and free of debris
- Maintain accurate delivery records, obtain customer signatures, and communicate any delivery issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members and dispatch to coordinate schedules and resolve any logistical challenges.
- Help with stock replenishment and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse
- Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) - Class B or C
- Proven experience in delivery drivingÂ
- Ability to read maps and use GPS devices to navigate delivery routes effectively.
- Physical capability to lift and carry heavy items safely and stand for extended periods during loading and unloading.
- Experience working in a fast-paced delivery environment with a strong emphasis on customer service.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and delivery management software.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented setting and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to commercial vehicle operation and cargo handling.
- CDL Hazmat endorsement
- Forklift certified is a plus
