Overview

  • Assists project team in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of architectural technology by performing the following duties:

Job Responsibilities 

  • Performs assignments designed to continue to develop professional architectural experience requiring routine application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for related architectural tasks. Assignments will require limited independent judgement, under the supervision of a professional Architect.
  • Performs design and calculation tasks based on standard architectural techniques and procedures. Applies standard practices, architectural fundamentals, and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, and follows design through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
  • Performs design of aspects of minor routine projects under direction of Project Architect, or responsible staff member.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, cost estimates and permits for projects, under the direction of Project Architect or other responsible staff member.
  • Performs CAD drafting to produce routine final drawings.
  • May visit construction site to assist in the performance of construction administration duties per the contract documents.
  • Perform checking of one’s own work and work prepared by other team members.
  • Assists in the coordination of all applicable project discipline’s drawings and specifications.
  • Promote communications, cooperation and quality among staff.
  • Must be skilled in the use of:
    • Microsoft Windows, and Word
    • AutoCAD, Revit
    • Miscellaneous department product/system selection and sizing software.
  • Knowledge of the latest computer software for architectural renderings and building energy analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of sustainable/green strategies.
  • Responsible for job specific standards, practices and quality as defined by operational standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited four-year college or university and minimum 2 years experience in architecture.
