We are growing and adding a Manufacturing Electrical/Test EngineeringĀ IIĀ position supporting our product lines in theĀ MelbourneĀ FL facility.Ā 

Ā 

As aĀ Manufacturing Electrical EngineerĀ II, you will make a significant contribution to the team developing, verifying, and sustaining test processes, test equipment, and test procedures that will be used in the manufacturing of new and existing Collins Aerospace products.Ā

WHAT YOU WILL DO:Ā 

Ā 

Projects & New SolutionsĀ 

  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product Quality.Ā 

  • IdentifyĀ componentĀ test failure trends and perform root cause analysis. Implement corrective actions to resolve. Prepare test failure analysis reports asĀ requiredĀ for production.Ā 

  • Study performance and reliability of existing test equipment andĀ establishĀ programs and solutions for decreasing test equipment downtime.Ā 

  • Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction, test efficiency, test yields, and manufacturing test capacity opportunities.Ā 

  • Provide capacity planning andĀ utilizationĀ analysis forĀ accurateĀ staffing and test equipment needs.Ā IdentifyĀ new test approaches that will minimize production staffing needs and capital requirements.Ā 

  • Select and order capital test equipment using sound cost/payback analysis. Generate and track Appropriation Requests.Ā 

  • Improve existing test fixtures and equipment needed to improve test performance.Ā 

  • Participates in Production Readiness Reviews toĀ determineĀ suitability ofĀ new designsĀ for production.Ā 

  • Support efforts to conductĀ Gage R&R efforts on new test solutions to verify consistent product and equipment performance.Ā 

Ā 

Sustain/SupportĀ 

  • Responsible for providing technical support for entire product test process, board level through top-level test and support floor test technicians in meeting monthly production schedule.Ā 

  • Develop complete working knowledge of any assigned test systems and hardware.Ā 

  • Provide test engineering support during the resolution of manufacturing flow inhibitors (MFIs).Ā 

  • Provides technicalĀ assistanceĀ and support to floor test technicians.Ā 

  • Provide technical mentorship to other engineers.Ā 

  • Interface with design engineering in coordinating design changes required for sustaining production during the resolution of obsolete part, tolerance, and test yield issues.Ā 

  • Work with test technicians to train them on products and test systems.Ā 

  • Maintain test documentation for current configuration and overseeĀ accurateĀ change management procedures for all test documents.Ā

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:Ā 

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.  

  • 2+ years of experience asĀ ManufacturingĀ EngineerĀ withĀ aĀ productĀ testingĀ focus.Ā

  • Basic statistics. Understands Parametric Process control and versed in implementation.Ā 

  • ProficiencyĀ interpretingĀ SixĀ SigmaĀ control methods.Ā

  • Problem-solving skills with ability to proactivelyĀ identifyĀ alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.Ā

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
