NextGen’s practice in Digital Engineering (DE) is growing. As such, we are seeking to hire a DE Senior Systems Engineer with experience in modeling and simulation and/or digital engineering. NextGen’s DE team builds high fidelity Digital Twins employing Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) approaches in support of new systems development for commercial and DoD/Intel customers. The selected engineer will be embedded with the customer and collaborate with fellow DE colleagues to solve complex technical tasks while becoming experts with and deploying cutting edge modeling and analysis tools. \n- As a self-starter, you will work with MBSE, MS&A, domain SMEs, software and platform engineers to develop cutting edge software solutions for DoD mission critical programs of record, ranging from C2 to intel to acquisitionÂ
- Deliver modeling simulation and analysis (MS&A) integrating Cameo/SysML, Cameo Simulation Toolkit, ModelCenter and/or AGI STK tools and outputsÂ
- Apply knowledge of model-based languages such as UAF and SysMLÂ
- Utilize MBSE tools such as MagicDraw/Cameo and MS&A tools to develop detailed models that integrate sub-system models across multiple domains (avionics, RF, EW, communication, aerodynamics, acoustics, EMI, human factors, etc.)Â
- Develop high-fidelity Comms modeling capabilities including emulationÂ
- Develop automation capabilities and tying the Digital ThreadÂ
- Support engineering activities: trade studies, functional analysis, requirement decomposition/allocation, interface definition and specifications.Â
- Work within an Agile Project Management framework and DevSecOps cultureÂ
- Collaborate across stakeholders including customers, teammates and partnersÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similarÂ
- 7+ years of systems and or software engineering experience with the DoDÂ
- 5+ years working in Digital Engineering including MBSE and/or MS&AÂ
- Solid understanding of systems lifecycle processes with Comms, RF or mission experienceÂ
- Experience with SysML using Cameo/MagicDraw, Cameo Simulation Toolkit, Model Center and/or AGI SAM, Rhapsody or Sparx Enterprise ArchitectÂ
- Experience developing conceptual, logical, physical (MBSE) or analytical models (MS&A)Â
- Ability to develop systems deliverables, to include requirements, CONOPs, IDD/ICDs, SDDs, test plans/proceduresÂ
- Experience in Agile software systems developmentÂ
- Ability to work closely with software engineers to evolve the systems architectureÂ
- Ability to analyze problems with a flexible and creative approach, manage complex tasks and adapt to rapidly changing requirementsÂ
- Ability to learn new technologies rapidly and implement in a dynamic environmentÂ
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and customer-facing skillsÂ
- Must possess an active Top Secret security clearanceÂ
- Experience with DoDAF (either UDPM and/or UAF)Â
- Deep experience integrating MBSE with MS&A environments, including orchestration across tools such as Cameo, AFSIM, STK, NGTS, ITASE, and ModelCenter.Â
- Experience with COTS MS&A tools: AGI STK, Phoenix ModelCenter, Dassault SOLIDWORKS, Keysight EXata, SystemVue or similar)Â
- Experience developing CAD or CAE modelsÂ
- Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Python, C++Â
- Experience with DevSecOps including use of CI/CD pipelinesÂ
- Ability to develop new plugins/scripts for MBSE and MS&A tools/frameworksÂ
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with SCI eligibilityÂ
