Engineering Specialist - Power Generation

Our Power Generation team is searching for a Senior Engineering Specialist, a technical leader responsible for delivering complex civil engineering designs and driving operational excellence across projects. This role goes beyond execution—leveraging advanced design platforms, developing tools and templates, and implementing strategies that enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation. What you will do:

• Lead the development of civil designs for projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with regulatory standards. 

• Direct the preparation and refinement of technical drawings and construction documents for municipal and transportation projects, maintaining precision and consistency across all deliverables. 

• Oversee the creation of comprehensive plan sheets and plan sets for construction using   CAD/Revit and other advanced design tools. 

• Provide guidance and technical direction to Engineering Technicians, engineers-in-training, and professional staff, fostering collaboration and professional growth. 

• Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of design components and adherence to project objectives. 

• Establish and enforce rigorous quality control processes; review plans and specifications for constructability, risk mitigation, and compliance with client and jurisdictional requirements. 

• Partner with Project Managers and Engineers of Record to develop conceptual, preliminary, and final designs; contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and project planning. 

• Represent the firm in client meetings, providing technical expertise and ensuring alignment between design intent and client expectations. 

• Drive continuous improvement by developing design standards, templates, and workflows that enhance efficiency and accuracy across projects. 

What you will bring:

• Education:   

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or equivalent professional experience in civil engineering design using CAD software. 

• Experience:   

• 10+ years of progressive experience in municipal, land development, or renewable energy engineering, with demonstrated leadership in design and project coordination. 

• Licenses/Certifications:   

• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required. 

• Software:   

• Comprehensive knowledge of design platforms including, but not limited to: BlueSky Skyline/Lightning, SEED File Database, AutoCAD (Civil 3D), Bentley ArcGIS Pro, and Trimble Business Center.
