What you will do:
Lead Classroom Teachers of the Early Childhood Education team of the Gottlieb Child Development Center, part of Loyola Medicine. Nurturing and developing young children to reach their full potential with a goal to give all the children opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive
Child Development & Classroom Instruction
- Create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of all children.
- Foster creativity, curiosity, exploration, and a love of learning through developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
- Conduct ongoing observations and quarterly child development assessments to monitor progress and support individual learning needs.
Curriculum Planning & Implementation
- Develop and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with early childhood education best practices and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with co-teachers to deliver high-quality instruction and create meaningful learning opportunities for children.
- Adapt curriculum and activities to meet the diverse needs and interests of students.
Relationship Building & Communication
- Build positive and supportive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and developmental milestones.
- Promote a collaborative, respectful, and team-oriented classroom culture.
Leadership
- Lead daily classroom operations and provide guidance to classroom staff to ensure a safe, organized, and productive learning environment.
- Demonstrate strong decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Serve as a role model for best practices in early childhood education and contribute to the overall success of the program.

What you’ll need for this job: Â
Minimum Education:
Must meet the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Early Childhood Education teacher requirements.
Candidates WITHOUT an Associate's degree qualify with a total of 30 general college credit hours AND 6 credit hours in Early Childhood Education/Child Development from birth to age 6 Loyola University Health System Job Description
OR- equivalent Child Development Associate Certification (CDA). Must also have completed 15 certified hours of Gateways to Opportunity Continuing Education Units.
Candidates MUST have current Membership to Gateways to Opportunity.
Candidates MUST have current CPR/First Aid Certification (or complete through Loyola during the first 30 days of employment).
Food Handling certification.
Candidate must pass required background/finger print checks.
Required:
1.Must meet the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Early Childhood Education teacher requirements.
 2. Candidates must have 60 college credit hours (with 6 credit hours in Early Childhood Education/Child Development from birth to age 6 years).
3. Candidates MUST have current Membership to Gateways to Opportunity. Candidates MUST have current CPR/First Aid Certification (or complete through Loyola during the first 30 days of employment).
 Preferred: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education

Compensation: Â
Pay Range: $15.96- $22.98 per hour Â
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles. Â
