About the Role:

As an Apprentice Fine Chemical, you will embark on a comprehensive training journey within the non-durable goods manufacturing sector, focusing on the production and handling of fine chemicals. This role is designed to develop your technical expertise in chemical processes, quality control, and safety protocols, ensuring you become proficient in supporting the manufacturing operations. You will work closely with experienced chemists and production teams to learn how to prepare, mix, and analyze chemical compounds with precision and care. The ultimate goal is to equip you with the skills necessary to contribute effectively to product development, process optimization, and compliance with industry standards. Through hands-on experience and structured learning, you will build a strong foundation for a successful career in fine chemical manufacturing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a strong foundation in chemistry or related sciences.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety and chemical handling procedures.
  • Willingness to learn and follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require standing for extended periods and handling materials safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or coursework in chemical manufacturing or laboratory settings.
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and measurement techniques.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation purposes.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in chemical production or related fields.
  • Certification in workplace safety or first aid is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and mixing of chemical compounds under supervision, following established formulations and safety guidelines.

Shift position with 12 - hour shifts, working consecutively: 2 days/7am-7pm then
2 nights/7pm-7am, off next 4 days. Overtime may or may not be required. Weekend and holiday shifts will occur.
