Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare necessary entry documents for wide variety of goods and commodities to the relevant regulatory agencies, such as U.S. Customs, FDA, and USDA, in order to secure customs clearance.Â
- Arrange pickup of air and ocean freight at origins and arrange transportation to destination.Â
- Coordinate movement of shipments from port via ocean, air, rail, truck or intermodal.Â
- Prepare and submit Arrival Notices.Â
- Prepare and examine bills of lading to determine shipping charges and tariffs.Â
- Communicate with vendors.Â
- Track and trace shipments.Â
- Coordinate deliveries to consignees.Â
- Communicate and follow up with clients regarding shipment status, questions and/or other inquiries.Â
- Advise clients on transportation options, types of carriers, or shipping routes.Â
- Post bonds for the products being imported or assist clients in obtaining bonds.Â
- Pay or arrange for payment of freight, and insurance fees, or other charges.Â
- Maintain communication and information between Customers and Vendors to ensure that customers’ needs are met.Â
- Generate invoicing in accordance with company policy.  Â
- Ensuring internal compliance standards are met.Â
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years freight forwarding industry experience preferred.
- Customs Brokerage experience preferred.
- Cargowise One experience.
- Excellent organizational, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals to complete work accurately, thoroughly and on tight timelines to best serve customer needs.
