Job Description:

1.0         JOB PURPOSE:

The Summer Intern is a learning position where engineering knowledge is transferred to the intern which will then use it to assist with tasks that include day to day operations of the plant, PSM information updates and providing assistance for projects and various other assignments on the plant site.

1.0         PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.1       Assist Area Engineers in their assigned duties.  This includes data gathering and analysis, auditing of the plant, work order writing and investigation.

1.2       Update PSM information for the plant.  This includes red-lining P&IDs, helping to update equipment information in our CMMS, procedure updating, assisting with information gathering for PHA’s and other such tasks.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: (continued)

1.3       Work with Project Engineers to assist with tasks on their projects.  This will include field walk downs, drawing updates, job plans, investigating codes and standards being used, etc.

1.4       Work with Reliability Engineers to help gather data in the process, help research and investigate issues in the plant, contact and follow up with vendors on issues, etc.

2.0         KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

2.1       Enrolled in an Accredited Engineering Program

2.2       Completed 2 years of schooling

2.3       Excellent computer skills and be able to become highly proficient in the use of modern digital tools.

2.4       Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to give group presentations

2.5       Strong organizational skills and must be able to collect and analyze data.
