About the Role:

The EHS Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace within the manufacturing industry. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs that align with federal, state, and local regulations. The specialist will conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the role supports continuous improvement initiatives to reduce workplace incidents and environmental impact. Ultimately, the EHS Specialist ensures that the organization meets all regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and other applicable federal and state EHS laws.
  • Proven experience conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively deliver training and collaborate with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Training and Learning Management Systems (LMS), or similar professional certification.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems implementation and auditing.
  • Familiarity with hazardous waste management and chemical safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in EHS software tools and data management systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of ergonomics and process safety management in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting to prevent recurrence of workplace accidents or environmental incidents.
  • Provide EHS training and awareness programs to employees at all levels to promote safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with management and operational teams to integrate EHS considerations into daily manufacturing processes and continuous improvement projects.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, preparing documentation for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Support emergency response planning and drills to ensure preparedness for potential workplace incidents.
