Accounts Receivable Specialist

Memphis, Tennessee

Tire Factory Inc is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist. This is a combined accounts receivable and credit/collections role and an integral part of our daily operations. The ideal candidate has previous experience, can prioritize tasks, and provides great service to our customers. This is an on-site position in Memphis, Tennessee.


Work Schedule

This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid meal break (40 hours per week).


Compensation

Starting salary is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.


Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all AR payments and credit applications, and for collecting on AR balances.


Essential Responsibilities

●        AR payment processing, including credit card payments.

●        Responds to AR inquiries in a prompt manner.

●        Works with the Credit Manager and Sales Manager on troubled accounts.

●        Operates the check reader for remote deposits.

●        Provides administrative support as needed.

●        Sends hard-copy mail and email statements to a select list of customers.

●        Processes credit applications.

●        Collects on aged AR balances for the customers assigned to this role.


Requirements

Two to four years of accounts receivable experience in a mid-size accounting environment, or an equivalent combination of experience and education, are preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word is required, and experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus. The candidate must have basic business math proficiency and a basic understanding of business practices, including but not limited to filing and telephone etiquette.

The candidate must demonstrate a work history of dependability along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail is a must, and strong written and verbal communication skills are required. The applicant must be willing to learn new software programs. This position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, and to multi-task. The candidate must be able to pass a background check.

The candidate must be able to operate computer hardware and software at a level needed to effectively perform job functions, including the ability to enter and retrieve data and prepare simple reports.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The role requires sitting at a computer for long periods and lifting and moving up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
