This is a full time position with working hours of Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as required with benefits after successful completion of a sixty (60) day introductory period. This is a promotional opportunity and is an internal/external recruitment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Director of Merchandising, assist the Graceland merchandising and buying team with buying support for the Graceland retail stores, Shop Graceland (Ecommerce store), The Guest House at Graceland retail store and other merchandising projects and events. This position will work with the merchandising team to develop skill level and knowledge in buying practices, vendor relations/negotiations, marketing practices and merchandise presentation. Assist with the management, maintenance, and customer service of Shop Graceland implement and coordinate all retail price changes; transfer planogram items via min max reports; oversee the purchase order tracking and confirmation process to assure on time deliveries of orders; handle, maintain, and execute resolutions for shipping, invoice, inventory discrepancies and product issues in a timely manner; support merchandising and distribution teams with additional projects as needed; assist with managing, sourcing, and purchasing specified product categories to meet sales and profit objectives:
- Interpret and analyze weekly forecast reports
- Recommend initial and re-order quantities
- Develop ongoing communication with vendors
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Must have retail merchandising experience or equivalent is preferred. Bachelor Degree in Retail, Merchandising, Business or related field required; related experience; excellent organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail; strong negotiating, retail math, and analytical skills; strong communication skills both written and verbal, internally and externally; direct vendor contact and negotiating experience; experience in using inventory management systems, reports and spreadsheets in forecasting and drop/add decisions; ability to cope with extremely heavy workload; ability to deal successfully with a wide range of people; ability to work under pressure of deadlines and competing needs; must have excellent typing, filing, and computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Photoshop.Â
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to speak clearly and distinctly; stoop, reach, and sit for long periods of time; ability to lift boxes weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Work in a non-smoking area; work in a highly confidential area. Must be available to travel whenever necessary.
