POSITION PURPOSE

The Business Analyst II provides project and operational support for the organization’s software applications, with a focus on the core banking system. This role works independently as an intermediary between business units and IT. The Analyst gathers, analyzes, and documents user requirements and business processes. This role is distinguished from the Business Analyst I by serving as a project lead over small to medium-sized projects.

 

Key responsibilities include supporting and improving current project processes and procedures, assisting in the UAT process, facilitating discussions, and maintaining stakeholder engagement. This position also involves collaboration across IT departments to drive process improvements and project alignment.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  1. Consult with functional unit management and personnel to identify, analyze, define, and document business requirements related to the core banking system
  2. Write clear documentation outlining user needs, system functionality, and process flows.
  3. Support the core banking system by turning project requirements into operational processes in coordination with Core Systems Analysts and the Director of IT Projects.
  4. Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported, and resolved in a timely manner.
  5. Work independently with departments on change management requirements.
  6. Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
  7. Participate in and occasionally lead projects, ensuring timelines and standards are met.
  8. Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and IT team(s) regarding system changes and decisions.
  9. Assist in the facilitation of team and internal customer meetings.
  10. Adapt to an evolving environment in a growing business.
  11. Advocate for improvements and changes to current Agile practices.
  12. Coordinate the release of changes between the business units and the appropriate Information Technology staff.
  13. Identify opportunities for improvements in business processes.
  14. Integrate new approaches to solving problems.
  15. Assist in vendor integrations and vendor performance tracking.
  16. Learn and understand specialized terminology and processes around Credit Unions.
  17. Create and maintain mechanisms for reporting and auditing.
  18. Read, understand, and apply technical information pertaining to the core banking system.
  19. Develop and make well-organized and effective presentations.
  20. Present to, and discuss information with, a wide variety of audiences.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, a related field, or equivalent experience.

                                               

Experience Required:

Three to five years of experience as a Business Analyst or four to six years in a similar position. Financial Institution experience a plus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:    

Some local travel to work sites required. Work is generally carried out in a typical open office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the working conditions are those of a typical office environment, with temperatures occasionally too warm or too cold, moderate noise levels and under lighting conditions typical of an office. This position is not considered remote.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a desk and in meetings for long periods of time on a continuous basis; intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk; perform simple grasping and fine manipulation with fingers; reach with hands and arms; use a telephone or other electronic communication devices; stand for long periods of times at counter, printers; communicate orally and through written means; use standard office equipment such as computers, printers; write or use a keyboard to perform assigned duties; bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist while checking equipment; occasionally stand and/or walk over both even and uneven ground; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; hearing and vision within normal ranges with or without correction.
