About the Role:

As a Cook at Woodland Recovery Center, you will play a vital role in preparing nutritious and safe meals tailored to the dietary needs of patients, residents, or clients. Your work will directly impact the health and well-being of individuals by ensuring food quality, safety, and adherence to specific dietary guidelines. You will collaborate closely with dietary staff and healthcare professionals to accommodate special diets and preferences while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where meal timing is critical. Ultimately, your contribution will support the overall care experience by providing meals that promote recovery, comfort, and satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in food preparation or cooking, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes and dietary instructions in English.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks including climbing stairs.
  • Effective communication skills in English to interact with team members and healthcare staff.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
