The Mgr Cntrt Carrier Ad/PI position includes providing administrative management of the corporate trucking contract carrier network, ensuring timely and economical ground movement of revenue freight.
Essential Functions
- Monitoring schedule requests for compliance with corporate policies and procedures
- Following up on service level issues with the core carrier group
- Maintaining a 99% service level
- Provide carrier information to Worldwide Call and manage all scheduled carrier routes, covering all U.S. points and international routes into and out of Canada and Mexico
- Liaison between the corporation and the carriers utilized by FedEx
- Responsible for the strategic core carrier program, negotiations, and implementation
- Plans, organizes, and implements activities related to the AGFS surface transportation system administration, providing operational and administrative support to various groups within the company
- Implement and manage a system of reporting metrics on surface fleet performance, support staff and field management on DOT compliance, equipment maintenance, safety, and other surface transportation issues
- Monitor and report on-time performance of the corporate surface transportation network
- Maintains communication with Global Ops. Control to ensure coordination of surface and air linehaul systems
- Provides support for contract administration, invoice audit and payment, and recordkeeping on all transportation-related vendor services, and offers dispatch support for all scheduled and ad hoc trucking activities
- Select, train, develop, and motivate a staff of 12 professionals and 8 non-exempt employees
- Assist in the administration of an annual operating budget of approximately $1 million administrative and $300 million transportation expense
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree.
Related experience may offset degree requirements and related education/degree may offset experience requirements.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years of relevant experience or completion of an internal development program, along with two (2) years of management experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of motor carrier rates, ICC regulations, and U.S. and international transportation policies.
Basic computer skills.
Strong Management skills.
Human relations skills.
Communication skills.
