Salary Range:$64,663.30 - $100,235.20
Works under the general direction of the Administrator in Parks & Neighborhoods Division. Manages staff in the implementation of arboriculture and horticulture programs. Manages, prepares, and monitors operational budget and assists with the development of Capital Improvement Projects. Recommends the purchase of operational equipment. Monitors outside contracts and assists in the development of contract specifications. Coordinates with other City departments to facilitate repairs and maintenance. Directs the planning, research, organizational development, labor relations and special event programs for department. Inspects work sites to evaluate work requirements for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards. Coordinates and inspects park operations and equipment for safety hazards, fire inspections, maintenance needs, and ADA compliance issues and requirements. Reviews price quotes for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects. Monitors all park operations programs and contracts necessary to requisition tools, equipment, and supplies. Designs and supervises a preventive maintenance program for park operations and equipment. Provides work direction, assignment of duties, evaluation of work performance, and discipline of assigned staff. Establishes and maintains a cooperative working relationship with employees, union representatives, other department staff, management, vendors and contractors as necessary. Responds to problems in a tactful and expedient manner. Attends various meetings and work sites by driving to various locations. Works with private conservancy groups to represent and protect City ‘s assets. Creates and compiles various reports by utilizing various Microsoft applications. Interacts and communicates verbally and in writing with vendors, management, and staff on a variety of issues and concerns.
