Pharmacy Technician

We offer outpatient, intensive outpatient, home-based, and community-based programs, including a continuum of crisis services to over 22,000 residents of Shelby County. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • High School diploma or equivalent – requirement
  • 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience – requirement
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification - requirement
  • Bi-lingual – additional compensation
  • Excellent communication, computer & customer service skills
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail; able to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all clients, AHS employees and community you interact with as an AHS employee.


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Retrieves medications from shelf, counts medications and labels containers under the direct supervision of the pharmacist
  • Enters medication information and directions on client profile into computerized database
  • Receives written prescriptions from clients and verifies that information required on a prescription is complete
  • Answers the telephone and may take requests for prescription refill from a client
  • Performs cashier functions for payments received for medications
  • May hand out prepared prescriptions under the supervision of the pharmacist
  • Inventory management - orders and replaces stock in the pharmacy under supervision
  • Process confidential information
  • Uphold all local, state and federal laws pertaining to pharmacy
  • Other job duties as assigned


Shift Availability:

  • Full-Time – Minimum of 40 hours per week (hourly)
