HHM Talent is assisting a client search for a Senior Accountant for their real estate leasing and management company in Memphis, TN.
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support a portfolio of 11 real estate entities. This role is ideal for someone who is confident navigating financial statements, managing full-cycle accounting, and supporting a growing team with accurate financials. You will handle a wide range of accounting activities while working closely with the CFO in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Navigate and interpret balance sheets and income statements
• Reconcile full balance sheet accounts
• Handle budget-to-actual analysis
• Assist with year-end budgeting
• Complete real estate specific accounting tasks
• Close out a portfolio of 11 entities
• GAAP based accounting (no SEC reporting)
• Manage cash basis accounting activities
• Oversee AR and AP
• Manage accrued AR that has not yet been billed (annual and monthly)
• Manage accrued expenses that have not yet been enforced
• Conduct cash forecasting
• Read, review, and interpret a variety of financial and supporting documents
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
• Sage Intacct experience is a plus
• Prior real estate accounting experience is highly preferred
• Background from a larger real estate firm or a CPA firm is a strong plus
Work Environment
• This position requires more face-to-face interaction and will be mainly in office
• Ability to work from home one day per week once trust and comfort are established with the CFO
• Fully remote may be considered only for highly experienced senior accountants with strong real estate or CPA firm backgrounds
Compensation and Benefits
• $75,000 - $90,000 salary
