The Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer will lead the design, development, testing, and support of new product solutions in the intelligent power grid. This role involves designing controller products with microprocessor-based controls used in power distribution automation, including capacitor controls, source transfer controls, electronic fuses, and patented peer-to-peer feeder restoration systems. The engineer will also be responsible for analog and unique power supply design, documentation creation, and ensuring compliance with product safety and quality standards



Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • 7–10 years of hands-on experience designing and testing electromechanical products (e.g., Inverters, Drives, Servers, Network Switches)

  • Proficiency in analog/mixed-signal circuit design and PCB layout

  • Practical experience with manufacturing builds and modification of electronic products

  • Familiarity with components like PCBA’s, cable harnesses, terminals, and fasteners

  • Skilled in SolidWorks for 3D modeling (sheet metal, plastic, cable routing)

  • Experience conducting tolerance stack-up analysis

  • Knowledge of IEC, UL, CSA, NEMA standards, and National Electric Code

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using simulation tools for finite element and thermal analysis

  • Understanding of EMI/EMC and thermal considerations in design

  • Experience designing packaging for electronic equipment
