REPORTS TO DC Manager   - Day Shift

Summary/Purpose

The Quality Supervisor supports the quality department, internal issues, and customer warranty analysis. This position assists with the

planning, supporting and coordination of quality assurance programs. Leads Quality improvement initiatives.

 

Essential Duties and Accountabilities (General):

• Assures completion of appropriate quality planning and implementation of established control plans

• Assists with updating Control Plans and PFMEA as needed

• Initiates investigation of customer complaints regarding quality and ensures appropriate action and customer satisfaction.

Completes detailed customer issue reports within required timeframes. Build customer rapport on responsiveness and support.

• Track and communicate customer quality requirements

• Continually increase “quality awareness” in all associates

• Assist with analysis of organizations’ overall performance against goals set for Key Process Indicators

• Assist with maintaining corporate and plant level procedures

• Assist with data analysis and risk assessment as pertaining to quality and customer audits

• Assists in planning, promoting and organizing training activities related to product quality and reliability.

• Assists with reviews and assists with the internal quality audits

• Addresses supplier quality issues, reviews existing supplier PPAP submissions and issues PSW as required

• Conducts product return analysis, creates root cause investigations

• Ensures corrective and preventive actions are carried out to eliminate any nonconformance in the system

• Maintain knowledge of gauging equipment and develop the use of new equipment as needed

• May perform performance reviews for hourly associates. Recommend coaching actions, if required.

• Supports all health, safety, environmental standards, ensuring associates are working safely, and following all safety rules and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities • This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• 5+ years of quality related experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment

• Understanding of IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 or other Quality System requirements

• Understanding of internal auditing and ability to perform internal audits to IATF 16949 requirements

• Understanding or the ability to learn and utilize JJPS initiates of QA Network, Change Point Control, QC level of evaluation, Process

Improvement, and QC Circles.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on professional conduct

• Ability to work with all levels of the organization

• Ability to work effectively with customers and suppliers

• Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Minitab, etc.)

• Strong statistical and analytical skills • Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision, excellent time management • Ability to travel, as required, to customers and suppliers

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field.

• Minimum 5 years manufacturing/distribution experience
