Summary

The System Director of Nursing provides strategic leadership and oversight for nursing practice across all clinical care sites within Baptist Medical Group. This role ensures the highest standards of patient care quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Working closely with executive leadership and the system nursing team, the Director drives initiatives that align with organizational goals, enhance patient and staff satisfaction, and promote clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities include standardizing nursing practices, optimizing workflows, managing nursing-related financials, and leading performance improvement efforts. The Director also plays a pivotal role in workforce development, including recruitment, training, and retention strategies for nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and uphold standards for nursing practice to ensure exceptional patient care
  • Collaborate on strategic planning, budgeting, and operational initiatives
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering compassionate, efficient, and evidence-based care
  • Promote transparency, collaboration, and accountability across clinical teams
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for nursing personnel
  • Evaluate nursing staff performance and productivity regularly
  • Direct training and competency validation for CMAs, LPNs, and RNs
  • Champion team-based care models and continuous improvement in care delivery
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements
  • May oversee risk management, utilization review, and reimbursement processes

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Education:Ā Must hold an active RN license; BSN required; Master’s degree preferredĀ Ā 

Experience: Minimum 5 years in nursing with progressive leadership and operational responsibilitiesĀ
