Who We Are:

WISEACRE Brewing Company is a fast-growing regional brewery located in the gritty but grand city of Memphis, TN. We first started brewing in 2013 and now have 2 production facilities along with accompanying taprooms and a pizza kitchen serving up New Haven style pies. Our focus is on making top quality, uniquely flavorful beverages but we have a particular passion for lagers as evidenced by our top-selling, GABF bronze medal winning Tiny Bomb pilsner.

Position Details:

The bartender is in charge of serving patrons, providing information to help with beverage selections, presenting ordered choices and effectively ensuring that guests are satisfied with their WISEACRE experience. The ideal candidate will be able to provide top-quality customer service while maintaining taproom ambiance and transaction accuracy. In order to help ensure all aspects of this position are performed as expected, measurable metrics will be provided along with regularly scheduled performance reviews. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service at all times
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning, set-up, and breakdown tasks as assigned
Be fully knowledgeable of and adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
Monitor guests intoxication levels and refrain from serving alcohol when appropriate
Check identification of all patrons and monitor for underage drinking
Help guests select beverages by presenting menu and making informed suggestions
Use POS System as instructed
Keep customer tabs precise and up to date
Provide accurate information about our beer and food options
Accurately input food and bev orders
Assist with running food from kitchen to tables whenever scheduled or asked to do so
Bus tables and maintain a clean indoor/outdoor space
Obtain revenues by totaling all charges in full, issuing bill, accepting payment, and returning payment card and signature slip to guests if not paid with cash
Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
Be knowledgeable of and comply with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws and ordinances
Communicate and embody WISEACRE brand
Perform other duties as requested by management

Qualifications:

Must be 21 years of age or older
Minimum one year of experience in service industry
Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
Excellent customer service skills
Has an up to date ABC card
Ability to multi-task while maintaining a calm demeanor
Proficiency in POS System and/or willingness to learn
Ability to work a flexible schedule

Physical Demands:

Stands and/or traverses taproom for long periods of time
Use repetitive motions
Lifts up to 60 pounds without assistance

Compensation:

$7.25/hr during training period (typically 2-3 shifts) and for occasional staff meetings
$2.13/hr plus tips for standard shifts once training is complete
$20/hr plus tips for private events
