Aqua Finance is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to support the HR team with key initiatives that enhance leader development, hiring practices, and overall employee experience. This internship offers hands-on exposure to core HR functions while contributing to meaningful projects including Annual People Leader Training, the creation of a New People Leader Onboarding Plan, and the development of a Hiring Manager Toolkit. The role provides valuable experience in HR program design, process development, and employee engagement support in a corporate environment. 

 

Essential Functions  

  • Lead the development and implementation of assigned HR, OD, and People Operations initiatives. Examples of initiatives include: 

  • Support the creation, organization, and rollout of the 2026 Annual People Leader Training, including developing materials, coordinating logistics, and validating content for consistency and alignment with HR strategy. 

  • Design and document a comprehensive New People Leader Onboarding Plan, including identifying critical milestones, drafting resources, and collaborating with HR team members to refine the process. 

  • Lead the development of a Hiring Manager Toolkit by gathering best practices, creating user-friendly resources, and ensuring tools support consistent and effective hiring practices across the organization. 

  • Participate in additional HR projects involving program documentation, process improvement, training content creation, and resource organization. 

  • Gain experience and participate in ongoing HR processes and programs, working with HR systems and internal stakeholders across departments. 

 

Required Education and Experience 

  • Currently enrolled at a University or College at a minimum of Junior Undergraduate Status 

  • Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field 

  • Completion of relevant Human Resources coursework prior to the start of the internship 

  • Strong attention to detail and effective verbal and written communication skills 

  • Internship will run from mid-May through mid-August 

  • Ability to commit to 40 hours per week during the internship period 

  • Availability to participate for at least 9 weeks of the 12-week program 

  • This is an onsite internship; interns will be required to work at our corporate location in Wausau, WI for the duration of the internship.

Physical Demands 

 

While performing the duties of this position, the employee regularly uses a computer and may be required to sit, stand, walk, see, communicate, and handle or manipulate objects or controls. The role involves extended periods of working at a computer and may require occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of up to 20 pounds. 

This is primarily an office-based position with a significant portion of the work performed at a computer.
