Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE: 
The primary function of this position is the safe and efficient production of electrolyte solution within the facility using proven manufacturing techniques consistent with company policies. The incumbents are charged with the responsibility of delivering the plants goals of zero injuries and environmental releases while meeting all production goals. 
  PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Identify and take immediate steps to correct any unsafe working conditions.

Utilize manufacturing knowledge and experience to proactively operate the plant in a safe, reliable and optimal manner.

Under supervision, monitor process conditions, equipment and control system, including responding to alarms.

Initiate and control manufacturing of chemicals in vessels, including changing of raw materials, monitoring batches, keeping records and operating process equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Operating Discipline Principles and Practices.

Utilize skills necessary to operate all equipment in the unit as required by operating/safety procedures.

Initiate service requests and notify supervision regarding status of equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot process issues as needed.

Perform safe-outs, lockout tagout and tryouts

Set-up, operate, clean and monitor processing equipment.

Complete production records and maintain a clean work environment.

All other duties assigned by supervisor that fall within the realm of safe work practices.

  KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

High school diploma required; technical training/education preferred college degree desirable.

1 year experience in a manufacturing environment with chemical experience a plus.

Must possess applicable silver level WorkKeys scores - Applied Mathematics, Applied Technology, Locating Information, Reading for Information.

Must be computer literate and competent in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)

Problem solving skills to resolve quality or production problems that may arise.

Technical ability to identify problems and resolve them, confidence in job knowledge to make critical operating decisions with supervision.

Ability to work a rotating shift; weekends; holidays; overtime; and respond to callouts.

Ability to obtain lift truck certification.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work as a team.

  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Perform all job functions and responsibilities in a safe and responsible manner.

Moderate lifting, drum handling, use of stairs, ladders, tools, walking, bending, stooping, work outdoors and at heights, work on 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors; Must be able to lift 50 Lbs.

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment and adhere to plant PPE requirements, including but not limited to, pass and keep up with air respirators fit test conditions (No facial hair that affects the seal or valve of the face piece - maximum one day’s growth).

Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.

The salary for this position is $26.81.
