PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (XR2) - Memphis, TN

 

 

About the Role

Omnicell is seeking a PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (On Call) to support our XR2 automation system at a customer hospital site. This on‑call role provides coverage for call‑ins, PTO, LOAs, and peak operational needs while supporting safe, efficient medication automation that enables pharmacy teams to focus on patient care.

This is an excellent opportunity to earn flexible income, strengthen advanced automation skills, and gain exposure that may lead to future full‑time or expanded roles within Omnicell.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Operate and support Omnicell XR2 automation in accordance with SOPs and best practices
  • Manage medication inventory, restocking, returns, and formulary accuracy
  • Perform routine equipment inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
  • Monitor system performance and escalate unresolved issues to TAC or the appropriate helpdesk
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with Pharmacy Services policies
  • Communicate proactively with pharmacy leadership and customers to resolve issues
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for Omnicell team members as needed
  • Participate in training and maintain all required certifications and credentials

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration for the state of TN
  • Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB / CPhT / EXCPT)
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy automation 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program
  • 2+ years of hospital pharmacy automation experience
  • 1+ years of IV / Sterile Compounding
  • Experience supporting automation troubleshooting and IV workflows

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
  • Comfort working with mechanical equipment and computer systems
  • Proficiency with Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills

 

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • PRN / On‑Call (as needed)
  • Coverage primarily (subject to change): 1st / 2nd
  • Able to work and support call Outs / vacations at following site(s):
    • 6019 Walnut Grove Rd., Memphis, TN, and/or, 
    • 7691 Poplar Avenue, Germantown, TN 
  • This role will be good match if you are currently on a 7 on / 7 off work schedule, looking for PRN or part-time work only, etc.
  • 8–10-hour shifts; hours may extend beyond normal business needs
  • Ability to Travel for training
  • Pharmacy environment with potential exposure to hazardous drugs
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs
