Love cooking for a crowd? Want a job where your work matters every single day? Menahga Public Schools is looking for a Head Cook to lead our kitchen team and serve up meals our students look forward to.

What you'll do

You'll run the daily operation of our school kitchen — planning production, preparing and serving breakfast and lunch, and leading a small team that takes pride in feeding kids well. You'll keep our kitchen safe, clean, and organized, manage inventory, and make sure meals meet USDA and state nutrition standards. Most importantly, you'll help create a cafeteria where students feel welcome.

What we're looking for

• Experience cooking for large groups (school nutrition or lead cook experience is a plus, but not required)
• Strong organization and a team-first attitude
• Ability to obtain food safety certification (we'll help you get there)
• Comfort with the physical side of kitchen work — standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and keeping pace during busy service
